The power to make our own decisions without interference from others is what is known as autonomy and in nearly every sphere of life, it is incredibly important.
Self actualisation is the highest level of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of human psychological needs. Kurt Goldstein in his seminal paper on human motivation refers to the phrase self actualisation. Maslow’s Self actualisation is the complete realisation of a persons potential.

Live life in accordance of own true beliefs and desires. Gabor Mate in the Myth of Normal talks about the social constructs and conditioning that keep us feeling shame, fear and guilt. Finding Fulfilment by living in accordance with our true essence is something we need to develop and become conscious to.
Coaches empower clients to make their own choices. We help our clients to have more choices available, through new levels of insights, perspectives and self awareness. Self governing and self determination, responsibility for decisions and actions to achieve is how coaching leadership styles and culture work.
