Time Management

If you have a goal the first thing you need to do is make time for it. To make it happen you need to prioritise it.
On a Sunday I look at my week I plan my time and priorities in my roles of athlete, mother, wife, and Coach. I also need creative time and time with my friends. These are some of tips for time management.
– Goal Setting. You need to firstly understand the goals in your life. Your purpose and values for who you want to be and how you want to live your life. This needs to be clear to you.
– Plan your week
– Plan each day
– List your priorities for the week
– List how you want to show up this week in your roles
– Be realistic about how much you can get done ✅
– I add buffer time so if for whatever reason I don’t get enough done I have a few hours I can use for studying.
– Cut out distractions. For me this is turning my phone off.
– Relationships need time too. Plan quality time and remember people come first over schedules. My husband and I have a date night every week. We need time to connect out of the house away from the kids. It needs to happen every week to build and maintain our relationship.
– Say No to say Yes to your bigger purpose. Remember your big goal and make this the priority.
– Creative time and Fun. I am a creative person I need this outlet but I think it is important for everyone to be creative. Do something you enjoy and make time for it.
– Relaxation. Rest is just as important as training or working hard. ‘Stress + Rest = Growth’ Steve Magness
– Movement. I put my training first and this is what I do first most days. For people who are not athletes movement is still something you should schedule into your week. It is good for you mind, body and soul. Try to get outside in nature is a great way to be mindful.
– Reflect by doing this every week you will start to understand how you need to adapt to become more productive. Journaling is a great tool for this too.
